Crawling Information from Wordpress Pages
A large proportion of all websites on the web are based on a content management system (CMS) which is a software to create and edit content in an easy way. One example for a CMS is Wordpress. Many Wordpress installations are not fully protected against attacks because they do not run the latest version of the software.
Security researchers want to help website operators protect themselves by drawing attention to potential problems. In order to reach many people at the same time, security researchers often use the contact medium e-mail and send so-called vulnerability notifications (e-mail notifications about security vulnerabilities).
We conduct regularly a large scale research project and query the versions of Wordpress installations. This way, we can send website owners notifications to update their web pages. All our requests are performed in a non-intrusive way. Our tool will never try to exploit a vulnerability in your server or interfere with your services.
In case you want to contact us, you can send an email to
perse@cispa.de. If you want your websites to be excluded from our analysis in the future, you can send us an email with the domains, IP addresses or IP ranges which should be excluded.
Please refer to the project page for more information.
